Eltville's Rose Gardens

Hello there!

It's been a long time since my last posting, again. I know, but there are some more things I hope to post very soon.

Last month I was in Eltville with my good friend Chocola to take some nice pictures. It's always such a pleasure to meet up with her and taking pictures.

Eltville is known for its rose gardens, wine and lovely scenery along the Rhine. We'll definitly going to visit it again.

After the shooting we went for a short walk through the neighborhood and decided that we should go home and visit a local cafe which serves the most delicious macarons in Hesse.

That's it for today, thank you for visiting.

See you next time.

Lolita Meet: Hessenpark

Hello my dears,

Since I started my new job back in January I have less time to wear Lolita and hang out with my friends. Quite funny that I started to wear it more often to use my free time for thing I like at the same time. Does this even make sense?

Nonetheless, so last weekend I visited two Lolita meet-ups. This post will be about the one on Saturday.
We went to a nearby open air museum about Hesse which was very interesting.

As always, thanks to Christian Rösch for being there and taking pictures! Everyone looks so lovely.

I wish I would have taken more pictures of the marketplace, but I'm not fond of taking picturs when it's too crowded (and to be honest, I wanted to explore the place and haven't planed to blog about it...). But imagine it like that:
In the midle was the little antique fountain from the group picture above surrounded by rebuilt half-timbered houses with little shops. There were shops for cheese, meat, traditional costumes, a goldsmith, a bakery and two taverns. The bakery carried buns which were as huge as a loaf of bread. I'm not kidding. Beside the bun-loaf I also bought some goat camenbert which is so delicious and creamy!

My personal highlight were the pigs. I totally adore pigs and was super happy. These aren't just pigs, they are kind of special.
It's a local breed called Deutsches Sattelschwein* which was held by farmers in the past. However the farmers changed this breed for less fat breeds. Nowadays customers prefer low-fat meats which leads to the fact that the Sattelschwein is an endangered species. Unfortunatly there are only around 200 breeding-animals left of this breed.
(* I couldn't find a proper translation for the name, but a rough translations could be German Saddle Pig. Why Saddle? I guess it's because of its coloring.)

But there were also other farm animals like goats and sheeps.

Between all the different houses there was one which left a prairie-like and gosthy feeling, due to the half rotten shingles.

This picture amazes me over and over again. My friend just matches the location so well.

After exploring the museum we went to one of the taverns for late lunch/dinner. There's nothing better than a nice mug of shandy and a salad with potatoes after a warm day in nature. It's so nice that our local community started to go for a proper meal than just for some cake after a meet-up.

Fragrant Rose Memories Details

Welcome back!

On Day 7 of the 365 Lolita Lifestyle Challenge we were asked to photograph the details of our favorite dress.
Well, it was very hard for me to decide which one is my favorite dress and Celadon defintily stole my heart. But there's another dress which is very important to me: Fragrant Rose Memories Vivienne JSK.

It's one of the most detailed prints I ever saw and owned.
When it was released I wasn't sure if I liked it enough to get it at release... and really regretted my decision not to buy it. Luckily I got the Rosemary colorway of the Vivienne JSK for a good price secondhand.
'Rosemary?' you may I ask now. Well, I sold it because I couldn't coordinate it well enough and found the Victorian colorway soon after it.

I fell in love with the Vivienne cut because the hem reminds me of big, luxurious and elegant curtains. All the soft colors working so well together and the dotted fabric is to kneel down.
Today I would prefer the Camelot version with its rich lace.

The only thing I dislike about the print is the vibrant green flower. It sticks out and distracts so much..

As I took the pictures I discovered so many new print details like this little jewlery case with the decorated top.

Even tho it's a very OTT print I think Baby, the Stars Shine Bright did a good job with not overdoing the overall design. Not too many bows, elegant yet simple body cut, lace, lacing and tulle that matches the overall colors.
A design that looks nice with a light petticoat, a full petticoat or without one.

How could someone not like this print and dress?

Well, see you next time!

Day No. 26: 365 Lifestyle Lolita Challenge

Welcome back to the challenge,

Today was a rather interesting task in my opinion.

... and explain why you bought it.

I gathered the purchases of the last ~30 days, which were good investems of my christmas money.
Nearly half of it was purchased secondhand, which is not very typical for me. I tend to buy from brands directly as I love the feeling of a brand new piece. In case I buy something secodhand I often don't wear it and sell it right away, if it's not an absolut dream piece or somethign I wanted for a very long time.

I purchased the black dress (which is by HMHM) secondhand because I wanted to have a dark/black dress for casual wear. I just have a more frilly dress by Alice and the Pirates which doesn't suit my taste of casual. Luckily I really like it and I think I can coordinate this piece in many ways. I'm not really used to dark colors as main pieces, so this will be an adventure for me.
At first I really disliked the design of Palace Rose Tucked JSK. The stockpictures are really unflattering with photoshoped colors. But as soon as I saw it coordinated on Closet of Frills I fell in love with it. When Innocent World had their 15% sale in December and I had to get the it, because I was sure, that it won't be on sale again in the near future.
It was a very close draw between the green and the blue colorway as they look so similar in real life in my opinion. I still think, that the green colorway has a lot of blue in it...

One of the few Bodyline pieces I like is this floral print in grey. I don't feel well in Bodyline and didn't wear my past pieces often, just because I wear my bradn pieces more often if I can choose. But this skirt is so nice and well done so I was happy to find it for a nice price. Although I need to get it altered, the corset part is too big/long on me.
There's this H&M lace cape which kind of every (German) Lolita owns by now and I'm late on the train I guess. The lace is so so so soft and delicate, very surprising for a H&M product. I don't know why I bought this one so late or why I didn't want it at first.. But I'm happy I bought it, because it's wearable above a dress as a cape or underneath as a blouse. Both looks are very feminine.
The My Anniceversary Dot Dobby Chiffon blouse by Baby the Stars Shine Bright was somehow a birthday present to myself in December. It's a cute blouse which can be worn in both, casual and facy, ways. I like dotted fabrics and the crochetted lace looks beautiful on the chiffon collar.

These head accessoires are part of my New Years resolutions. I don't had any dark headwear for the longest time and felt unbalanced everytime I wore something dark.
The two headbows are from Innocent World and purchased at their 15% sale. One in navy and the other one in black. I have many navy mainpieces, so I was in need of navy headwear. The bows are really simple and meet my taste to the fullest. You can always upgrade simple bows with more decoration but never downgrade the fancy ones.
The pillbox hat is by Alice and the Pirates from their Funeral Rose series. I traded this piece with a dear friend of mine. She always has such beautiful and unique pieces I never saw online for sale...
By pulling the veil into different directions you can create different looks with it. A great addition to my wardrobe.

I think the hat and dark colors totally shows the direction I want to go with my Lolita style. More classic, more elegant and lady like.
More grown up.

See you next time.

Day No. 7: 365 Lifestyle Lolita Challenge‬

Hello my friends,

It's been quite silent here lately.
Sorry for that, but december is always very busy for me... my birthday, christmas/holidays, other birthdays, new years eve, you name it.. Also I got a new job and I love it.

Lace a la Mode opened the 365 Lifestlye Lolita Challenge and I try to do as many as I can.
Most of them won't be written down on this blog as these are lifestyle tasks (for now).
And here we are at day seven. This challenge screamed to be posted!

In my opinion 2015 (Happy New year btw) was THE year for dreamdresses. Every month someone on my social media friendslists posted about their newly gained ultimate dreamdress.
We all have this one dress we would die for.
Luckily I'm still alive, I think, and got the chance to purchase Juliette et Justine's Robe de Celadon last year.

Although it's one my favorite dresses I still haven't worn it. I will keep it for a special event. For now I can say it's one of those dresses I will never sell at any chance, not even if I leave Lolita.

I love the fact, that the lace is super soft and flowing. Although that Juliett et Justine used a rather thick thread for their lace embroidery the details are very clear. The texture is wonderful.

The look of the belt reminds me of an obi and makes the whole dress very elegant. It's removeable and you have an empire waist dress and a completly different look. It's a nice little feature.

Tell me, do you participate in this challenge? Link me your entry I would love to read it.

See you next time
